Down to the wire!

I'm supposed to be leaving tonight for the great PCA/Pelican/NCRC shindig @ Thunderhill.

Except I don't have a car, yet.

I sent it in for a trans rebuild almost 3 weeks ago. One little issue after another has held it up; bad R&P, logistics of drilling and tapping the case for oil lines, new diff not matching the splines of the old flanges, etc, etc.

I was at the shop last night clearing up last-minute issues with oil lines and whatnot. The engine and trans are in, but the oil lines, fuel lines, and electrical still need to be connected.

John Walker bailed me out by overnighting me a new set of flanges. UPS is supposed to have them here today by 10:30. From there it's a matter of installing them, hooking everything up, and filling it up with oil.

We'll see how it goes...

I think you're going to make it. Good luck.

C'mon Thom, That's half the fun...the anticipation..will I..won't I.

Just funnin' ya. I know you're anxious, but sometimes rebuilds just don't go as planned. If you have a good shop, he will do everything in his power to get you there. We have spent many 36 hour days with no sleep making sure a customer gets to the track on time. As I write, I am waiting for a call on locating tires for a customer (Oh, I forgot to look, he says) and I see my son's motor still sitting on engine stand. But we will make it, alwaus do, but if every thing went as planned it wouldn't feel like racing!

Good Luck, drive safely, and have fun.

I do hope that you make it But even if you don't, its not the end of the world, you are going to have a great transmission to use at all of the future DE's. Keep the shiny side up(and off the walls )!

What are you doing for gearing?

Yeah, I guess you're right. We'll see.

Yes, that thought will be foremost in my mind!

Stock - no gearing changes. The only improvements are the HD side cover and bearing retainer, and cooler.

Made it! Got the car back about 1/2 hour ago, put the tires on, I'm outta here!
