spark plugs wires
need to ask you professional guys a question. I am checking the wires and could not get them to show good. the wire checks good but the plug end and the distributor end also would not check at all. Is there a reistor are somthing that blogs me from checking continunity. How do I check them If there a risistor

Put your meter on the K ohms range. Should be 3-4 k ohms IIRC.

Checking continuity in ignition cables is useless since it does not tell you how they will perform in normal operating conditions of voltage ranges of at least 15kv. A better test would be to spray plain old water on your cables at idle.

You should not be using solid wire that will measure in the milliohm range. The distributor contacts should all read infinite to each other, no physical metal contact, HV jumps across open distributor gap simultaneous with jumping sparkplug gap. |
