89 Fuse Question - Yes I searched!
Ok, I have a diagram and such for the main frunk fuse box + the one in the engine compartment.
I also know of and see the fuse for the condenser fan. 2 questions: --I seem to have an inline fuse (screw holder type glass fuse) near the fuse box, it looks factory wired, any idea what this is? --what other fuses are in the car and where are they? I'm in the process of going through all these to ensure they are the right factory rating, replacing some, and cleaning the contacts. Thanks! |
Picture needed.

Check the wiring diagram. If you don't have one you should get one.

I have the fuse box diagram and a diagram of "electrical component locations" There is reference to "Additional fuses" - 16 Radio - In luggage compt This diagram doesn't describe the fuse on the condenser fan though. |
I had an 89 Targa and had taken some pics of the fuse panel. I don't recall any inline fuses... I was cleaning it up so some fuses are missing. If I still had the car, I would be doing the upgrade to the fuse system described in a post last week. Cheap and a much better set up.

There is no fuse like that on an 89. Someone along the line added it

I'll post a pic. Are there any other in-line fuses in the car I should be aware of? |
The fuel pump fuse holder often overheats loses its "springiness" and must be replaced. An inline fuseholder is the easy and quick solution.

This thread is what you should be doing with your fuse block while figuring out the rest of the mess.
A phone, alarm, who knkow what the PO's did over time..... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/875104-fuse-panel-swap-atc-done-under-35-total.html |
I believe that is your license plate light fuse. You can verify by removing the fuse from the holder and see if your license plate lights still work. Both of my '86 cars and my '88 car have that inline fuse.

This is the fuse. Haven't tested to see what it is. But pretty sure this is factory.
Any other inline or surprises fuses on this thing? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1438450261.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1438450277.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1438450292.jpg |
It's the factory fuse holder for the optional amp that sits on the floor under the passenger seat
