Hints on replacing glove box light switch

Ok, the switch works only if it's wiggled so the little pointy contacts are compromised. Bought a switch and it looks easy to install, just push and snap it in. The question is how do I access the old one to remove with next to no room. If I need to pull the box compartment, what is the deal for that. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I repaired my switch a couple years back. To get to it, you have to remove the glovebox. There's a strap underneath, holding it in place. Undo the strap and you can pull the box out rearward. I can't remember if you have to remove the glove box door first.

I will do the inverted limbo and see if I can get to it.

Open the glovebox door, and at the bottom of the glovebox [near where the door hinge is] you will see 3 screw heads. The outside ones are for the door, and the center one is for the strap that holds the cardboard "box". Loosen the center screw. It will be kind of long, but easy to unscrew. This will loosen the strap, and allow you to move the glovebox out of the way to get to the switch. You can do it sitting in the passenger seat. No limbo required.

Green6 excellent advice. It just about fell out. Easiest R&R ever.

On the 914 the inverted limbo is required.
