I'd certainly restore that one but I've got more money and time than sense.

OH... If only I liked Toyota's

Average sale prices in Hagerty's. Targas that sold topped the coupes. I think it is meaningless. Targa owners maybe shine their cars more than coupe drivers who drive them harder? Who knows? Coupes will pull more like for like condition.

Weissach was a 1980 commemorative job with spiffy appointments and paint. It's really the only SC that was different aside from the handful of slight engine differences between early and late SC's.

You need $10k for a decent paint job. Maybe $2,500 more for seals and all that "while you are in there" stuff . Alternatively, $3,500 and a year of your life in the garage with associated domestic risk.

Top end $5-7k if studs are broken. DIY, $3,000 for a nice job and 150+ hours unless you are a crackin' wrench.

Interior is a different ball game. You have time to sniff and hunt for parts. You can drive it gutted.

Targa top is a long one. You know the drill.

Deal is if you can tolerate less than pretty and you replace what is broken rather than going the full route, you can be running for possibly a few thousand dollars and do your fix thing over a very long time.

I say $7k. Only if color is genuine black.

If the Targa values surpass the coupes, I'll terminate my space alien colon pregnancy.

I like the sound of what you're saying Bob. Don't know the version, but it had leather trim -- even the back seats, he told me. FWIW, it is metallic black -- a surprise to him on purchase; he thought it was black. Top was redone at some point -- but not by carsinc.

Good luck with that either way.

I saw a pretty nice Supra the other day. Windows down in New Orleans at 100+ heat index made me think there was a problem with the ac.

Looks like what my brother from the West Bank would call a "Glugmobile"......in other words a Katrina casualty. I bet the air filter would be an indication.

It sat out the flood in an airport parking garage, from what I'm told (and believe).

If the dash is leather it's a full leather car more than likely. Dash appears to be leather from what is left. Mine was full leather but I put a vinyl Porsche dash in. They crack., as you can see. That is an owiee $$ to replace.

Metallic Black is code 708 per the Redbook.

"like" in Facebook terms. My '82 has a ridiculously cracked vinyl dash. Still trying to decide whether to live with it or not.

A few more pics -- the headliner and visors and the floorboard from driver's side.

If it was local, I would snap buy at 10K Cad. That rust on the AC looks so scary.

My vote is for $5000. I'd rather start with this than something that's been disassembled.

BTW, I have a Weissach. Every day I'm glad I bought it when I did, coming up on two years ago.

A project for sure Shawn. It makes me age faster just looking at it.

Pull the rear seats and and check for rust holes in the seat pans. I know all about that sort of thing.
