New Member Introduction
Hello everyone, I just wanted to take a minute of your time and introduce myself. I have admired and wanted a Porsche 911 since way back in the early 70's when I worked in a Porsche / VW repair shop while in college. After retiring 3 years ago, I decided the time had come to get what I had wanted for so long so I began to educate myself and to begin a search. I read all the books, forums etc. and finally wound up buying a car from one of my neighbors who had owned it for the last 25 years - he was 2nd owner. It is a totally original 1982 911SC sunroof coupe with 85,000 actual documented miles with very complete service records. It has the original paint and interior and everything works. I am looking forward to being a contributing member of this forum, thanks!

Welcome! Nice car, and it appears to be all there. You are going to have so much fun with it. Have you walked out to the garage with a beer in your hand just to stare at the car yet?

I have to say that I stared at the engine compartment pic for a long time.
You don't want to know what my fuel lines look like on my '81. They are bent and knarly. Oh, quite functional, but no one whispers "sweeeet" under they're breath when they look at mine. They will with yours. Drive fast and fix slow. Enjoy your retirement with the best 911 ever made. Your's and mine. The SC.

I love the blacks...had a 77 that looked exactly like that. I thought Bob's was red though? Confusing.

Tangled web. Word is you have to put the car together with the parts untouched (i.e., black on a Guards red car). The state Po-Po approves the fix for the restored salvage title, then you dismantle and repaint. Still an SC. Thank God. And not white like Ronnie's 930 coupe. Awesome friggin lines, Ronnie. Nice choice. That batch is ready to launch. ![]() Ronnie ...................thinking of upgrades............. ![]()

Govt is always up in our business....weird about how the parts and paint have to go on. Don't be too hard in Ronnie, whoops...on...he likes a ride with a bulbous rear. I like big Buttts, and I can not lie.

I forgot to mention in my retort to Bob (hope you don't mind ours, and Rich's humor in your thread, by the way, as some too-tight-sphinctered members express angst over the banter from time to time) that you've got a really nice looking car thar! I throw a lot of fecal matter about "non-Turbos, especially Targas and 912s, sux", but the truth of the matter is I like/appreciate them all (except for garage queens, buttofcourse).
