Touch up Paint Source
Hi All, Anyone have any recommendations for a source to get some touch up paint? The color is Adriatic Blue. I'm looking for it in touch up and in a aerosol rattle can. Thanks.

All your local body shops buy paint from the same place.
Look locally for an automotive Paint Supply store

Only other solution is to send them a part with the faded paint to have it matched.

They do a nice job. Always test the new can and if it is not right call them and they'll redo the batch for you. My metallic paint is 32 years old so it didn't match exactly (fading) but was very close.

Another thumbs up for Automotive Touchup. They did a great job of providing Touchup paint for my '84 Platinum Metallic 911 Targa in both spray and liquid form.

I go to my local Autobody Paint supplier and have them make me a pint of their "2-pack" paint in my color code and get some reducer and hardener.
When I need to do a small paint job, I mix up a small quantity as needed and use a Pre-Val sprayer to apply. Relatively inexpensive and it allows you to use a paint that will harden and last longer. FWIW, my local guy is a PPG supplier and I use the OMNI MTK Line.

Thanks to everyone. It's great to get recommendations. I bought this project car that had been painted a Porsche color, according to the previous owner. Unfortunately he can't remember the name. I'm trying to match via pictures online, which I'm sure is inaccurate. I think I've got it narrowed down to three, Adriatic Blue 16, Olymic Blue L51P, or Mexico Blue 336. I might have to take it to my local paint shop to see if they can confirm the color.

I recommend dr color chip. They also stand behind the paint mix. Easy process and dries flat. I don't like touchups the dry raised and look worse then the chip.

I've been looking for touch-up paint for my Slate Grey for a year now and finally gave up and had it scanned by a local paint shop. They gave me an Acura color that's not even close. The shop I used only uses existing colors used by car manufacturers, I guess. Wasted $75!

I went to my local auto paint supply shop, and they mixed up the paint I needed, and put it in a spray can for $20. Was enough to paint the rockers, and front valance.

No, I didn't try getting my money back. That shop's policy is once they mix it, it's yours to keep! |
