Lakewell Products

Anyone ever order any interior parts directly from Lakewell?
Euro conversion / VAT tax excessive?
Was the shipping a deal killer?
Looking for feedback as their website seems fairly straight forward.
Thanks for the feedback

If they ship outside the EU then VAT should not be charged and the invoice should show this tax as zero rated.

You may have to pay Duty when it arrives in the USA.

I am about to pull the ripcord on a complete 911 carpet kit from Lakewell. Given the strong dollar vs the Euro, (today $1.10=1 euro) even with shipping costs, their kit is a great deal! If you look at their pics and description, their carpet set looks "top drawer" and virtually identical to the original. Most of the folks that have ordered from them (I know Bill Verberg is one) have been very pleased with quality and fast shipping (for Europe). I requested multiple color samples from them and they sent them right out to me.
The carpet I have priced is (E490+E69ship) = $539+$76 ship. Total $614.
There is no VAT for export.
The best prices I've found for US suppliers for like quality carpet is $750-$1000.

Don't know about import duty, perhaps someone on the forum that has ordered from them can enlighten us, but if there is any I doubt it's very much.

I am very interested to hear how this turns out. A couple of other things to consider - you may need to plan on import duty (6%?) and brokerage fees (flat fee?) and one last thing - check how much you will pay for currency exchange fee if paying by credit card or paypal. They can bend you over for 3-5%

Lakewell

I installed their carpet on my 87 carrera last winter...
Excellent quality product, original material and colour. instructions are great both in print and video on u tube.
imported to Canada, no vat, reasonable shipping costs. Invoice show lower figures then what actually paid resulting in less duty and tax.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I'm interested in this as well. I ordered carpet and front seat covers. I placed my order in June, 10 days before the end of the month. They didn't ship it, and then I learned they're closed the entire month of July! Aargh! At least they haven't charged my credit card. Restorers I've talked to speak very highly of their products, but I've also heard that Lakewell is a supplier to a number of U.S. sellers. Interestingly, I bought some vinyl from a supplier in New Zealand and didn't have to pay duty on it.

I'm interested in this too. I'm thinking of doing some German Squareweave for my interior refresh.

Just received my custom carpet set from Lakewell. NO brokerage fees, NO import duty,
NO currency exchange fee with my VISA card ! Price quoted on Lakewell's site was the total I paid. Delivered to my door by USPS in about three weeks, not bad for a custom made product. By the way, the quality and workmanship is stunning, looks just like OEM Porsche product!

I used their RS kit in my 993, They were very good to deal w/ and the carpet was a perfect match for the existing sections that weren't changed out. They were somewhat more expensive than some others but worth it.

I just put their carpet kit in my targa, ordered it right after the Euro crash earlier this year. Very happy with the results. Their install videos on YouTube are very helpful.

I bought their carpet, B-pillar recover, and replacement seat foam from Lakewell. I have been super-satisfied with their quality and service, and shipping was amazingly fast. Recommended highly!
