adjusting valves with or without the cat on

How many keep the catalytic converter on the car when adjusting the valves on a 911 SC... New 911 SC owner and I'm analyzing and wanting to do it myself...There isn't much room in between the catalytic converter and the valves. What's the story ? Should it be removed

I didn't remove any of the exhaust when doing the job. But, it would have been easier with it out of the way. The choice is yours. Pulling the cat may ultimately make the job a lot more time consuming if you have to deal with rusty fasteners.

You just lay on your back, feet to the passenger side and use the short feeler gauge holder. Not too hard.

Leave it on. I just did this without touching the cat and I am a newb. Took longer to clean my greasy lower valve covers.

Beautiful i'll leave the cat on and work around it.... One more thing how about the AC compressor, do you guys work aroumd that . How do you address the AC compressor.

Unbolt the compressor from the mount, leaving the hoses attached. Then you could lay it over the rear fender. Use a blanket of course, LOL.

Of course the valves are easy when the motor is out. The easiest. Good luck.
