? Blower Motot
Hi,
Can anyone tell me what this is and what it does? I'm guessing a blower motor of some sort. Hard to replace (not working)? Tried to find it in the parts catalog without much success, any guidance as to part number would be greatly appreciated. ![]() Charles ![]() |

That's the blower motor for the front AC condensor. Do you have a PDF for the Porsche PET catalog? What's your model year?

Front Condenser Motor for AC system. Your Evaporator Motor is in the Smuggler's box
![]() If you are going to put it back, lube the motor well and put a 5 amp fuse on the positive side. The wire tends to over heat and may cause a trunk fire.

So for an SC '81 - '83 it's 911 624 013 01.
You can see the motor that's in the black casing (no casing shown) about 1/2 way down this page: 1982 Porsche 911 SC Targa - Air Conditioning & Vents - Page 4 |

Looks like the wires are cut.
You can test the motor. If its good put a 7-10 amp inline fuse on the red wire. If its shot get one of these: 911-624-013-01GRF through PP and ditto on the fuse.

Thanks again to all. Even though I can't spell "motor," I was actually able to take it apart with the helpful diagrams above. Motor would turn with a fair amount of effort. Hit it with some PB Blaster and it loosened right up. Put it all back together, fused it, and now it is purring like a kitten.
Now I'll really be able to enjoy the AC in my 911! Thanks again, and hope everyone has as much good luck working on their cars this weekend as I have had. Charles ![]() |
