Typically aftermarket seat belts are illegal to use on the open road in most states. I would check before you go that route.

Not sure on legality, but go to any cars and coffe typ meet up etc.... And you will see plenty of cars with harnesses of all configurations.
I have contemplated it myself, but unsure of the ramifications. Seems like it's done a lot.

I used rennline harness mounts for my takata 4-point harnesses. you can run both the stock belts, and race harnesses that way.

I replaced stock-belt mounting bolts with forged eye-bolts and used a "snap-in" solution. Easy to install/remove and does not interfere with stock belts. Shoulder belts mount to rear seat lap belt mounts and you MUST use a harness bar. All parts (eye-bolts, belt snaps) are available from belt suppliers.

Well after reading a bit, to complicate things I have a set of classic ST seats that obviously don't have belt mount locations so I guess Ill have to get what looks like side mount panels or eye hook bars. To be really safe, do most just go through the floor with these aftermarket belts??? Cool on a heavy track car but pretty rough looking.

Look for a copy of the install instructions for Schroth belts. That will tell you a lot about belt installation and proper geometry. They also make the only sensible 4 point option for the street, assuming you have appropriate seats.

To the OP, not sure I am following you....I can't imagine mounting belts to ANY seats, always the floorboard (or factory mount points). Cruise the belt manufacturer sites (there are several) for solutions available. I chose the snap-in solution so I can have harness for DE/Auto-X but not have to deal with them rattling and clanking for street use. Takes 5-10 minutes to remove them and go back to stock.
