Possible ignition problem?

Hoping someone out there can help with this. When the key is turned the car fires up fine, but when you let go of the key and it returns to its position, the car shuts off. It only stays running if you hold the key in ignition position and don't let it return to it's normal position.

Could it be that I just need to replace the ignition switch? Car is an '82 SC.

Thanks.

Start with the fuel pump wiring diagram. The fuel pump is powered by a different circuit in START and RUN. I would be checking the airflow meter switch at the rear of the airbox, try uplugging it. If this is the problem, it needs to be adjusted or replaced.
