Turn Signal Problem

I have an '87 Targa w/a turn signal issue which I'm trying to solve. Briefly, the LF turn signal does not flash at all ( neither the side light nor the front facing ). All others work fine ( front & back ) tho the turn signals flash faster than the hazards, again on all corners. With the hazards on again no flash from LF but all other corners are fine. On what is likely an unrelated issue if I hit a bump or pothole the brights come on. And it can be a very slight bump. Tapping the arm turns the brights off. I'm guessing a new switch is probably in order here but the turn signal issue is rather vexing. At first I thought it might just be a relay but I'm not sure that addresses the oddities here. Any suggestions ? I'm new to trying to track these things down & repair.
Thx/JG
