What is the line running to my muffler?

Hello Fellow Pelicanistas,

I have what looks like an oil line running to my muffler and was wondering what it is for. I replaced an aftermarket muffler with an oem muffler that has no provisions for this line. Will I be okay omitting this line?

Cheers,

-V

75-79 EGR valve filter pipe. Emissions controls. What year is your Porsche? If it is 75 then you are exempt by CA smog requirements. If it is newer, you may have to put it back on to pass your smog test. I guess some people have made mods to include the egr valve into updated exhaust including ssi's.
