915 Trans Question: Reinstalling the Throw-out Fork
915/06 - '74 Trans
I am about to reinstall a new throw-out fork and clutch lever. On the 915/06 there are no helper springs. I attached a picture of of the original position of the throw-out fork and clutch level to show how they aligned previously. Can someone shed some light on whether this is the correct alignment (slightly off), or should these be perfectly aligned vertically. Original alignment: ![]() Clean Trans ready for new parts: ![]() Thanks!!

You can't install the lower arm until the engine and trans are mated, and then it will be obvious, once it's back in the car and you have the cable there for reference.

This is one of those jobs thats pretty intuitive, the pictures won't do you much help IMO. I've had the 915 in out and out of my car a dozen times now and in my experience its almost immediately clear where the clutch lever is supposed to be indexed. The indexing positions are so coarse that Im betting you'll be able to tell "too far in", "too far out", and "just right" just by looking at it.
