Carolina Speed Werks- Help!!!!
For about two years I have been sending my cylinder heads to Dave at Carolina Speewerks in Mooresville N.C.
The last set I sent them was taking a little longer they they said.(typical). So I called and the # has been disconnected!! It's been 4 days. They are a race shop that preps PCA club racers and others. The machinist used to run the Interscope, Ongias Porsche team in the early eighties. They have been great bunch to work with. My last conversation with them indicated that they were VERY busy! I am scared that I am out a set of 6 3.0 SC heads. Has anybody ever heard of them? They ran 1 ad in Pano two years ago and got enough business so they never had to run it again. They seemed like the the type that would at least call you and say everthing blew up and send them the money for postage to get your heads back! |

Rick,
I live 6 miles south of Mooresville, NC. Send me what information you may have on them and I will try my best to drive up there and see what is going on before we leave town Wednsaday AM for Thanksgiving.

Whoa, take it easy. I just spent the afternoon kickin' it with David in his new shop! The move was quite abrupt due to an unexpected winning bid on a huge shop. Not such a smooth transition because of this, unfortunately.
The old number was on for a long time before they killed it- guess you missed it. Here's the new number: 336.475.6570. I just got my first set of heads back from him- watch for a post, I'm going to put up a pic. They're gorgeous! And the shop is super busy- I don't think I've ever seen so many 911 motor parts in my life. There are about a dozen race cars in various stage of prep as well, looks like they're gonna be slammed in the prep season.

Dave, Glad to hear things are Up and Up for Rick. By any chance are these some of the old "Brown and Harding" guys?

Well the "Brown" part is -- David Brown. Dunno anything about Harding. zuffenhausen tells me B&H was a strictly machine-work operation of high repute years ago.
Incidentally, they've moved to Thomasville, NC. It's pretty funny, they're in the same area as those enormous stadium-size furniture galleries. First time I've been there- I've never seen anything like those galleries! Damn they're big!

In the past I know Dave had a web site...
But I don't know the address. Does he still have a web site? Brian |

Thanks!!!
Thanks DTW!! You must understand my concern. When ever a phone # is changed, a recording comes on and tells you the new #. Even if there is a area code change. If you call the old number, the phone company recording simply says the # has been disconnected, end of story. I then called directory assistance and asked for a manager, and told them the story. They understood my concern and really tried to help. NO listing for Carolina Speedwerks no matter how you spell it!! That was good reason for concern! Did din't freak-out, just put up this post. Thanks so much for your concern and willingness to help!!
How are ANY of their customers out of the area going to reach them?? Again, high five for the pelican board!! |
