Unhappy Problem - Central Locking on Carrera 3.2

Hi,

having problems with central locking system ( Carrera 3.2 )

using either the remote CL or the key in the lock - the system will lock - but then instantly unlock itself!!! ( from passenger and driver's door )

any suggestions what could be causing this?

So far I have found a small lake in the rear passenger footwell - due to a leak which let in lots of ( i.e. min. 10-15mm standing water!!!!!.

As the DME was probably wallowing in this pool - could this be causing the problem?

Apart from unplugging the DME and putting it indoors in a hot cpd. overnight - anything I should do

( in the meantime yes there is a steering wheel lock on the car, and YES I have removed a few selected relays, and yes the car is chained and bolted to the house - so it can't be driven away!! )

the locks will unlock after they are locked when either door is open.
i would guess there is a faulty switch in the door and it isn't telling the "brain" that the door is actually shut.
someone want to back me up?

I've got your back, Bell.
Think you are right on the money - the system is operating in 'door open' mode.

Having worked on car electrical systems for 10 years plus, I wholeheartedly agree that the problem is in the microswitches in the door panels. These little microswitches attach to the inside door handle and have to be slid off the door handle, not pried off. Also recently replaced passenger side switch. I suggest finding where the microswitch wires come in to the car. They probably enter the car either through the front trunk or behind the quarter panels. Interrupting the wires before the go to the central locking brain will probably tell you which microswitch, that is passenger or driver, needs to be replaced.
