Anybody ever rebuild Wiper linkage assembly?
Have searched far and wide for the bushings to rebuild the wiper linkage. When the wipers park, have a couple of inches where the wiper won't go all the way down. I can reach out the window and push it down. Was going to change them to park on the passengers side, can't reach that side to push them down. Anybody know where I could find the bushings, or something that has already been figured out? thanks

Not exactly what you are asking for, but maybe a different option. Years ago the linkage broke on my 83 SC and I bought a used setup from a friend. I don't remember what I paid but is probably wasn't too bad. I do remember it being a real PITA to install. Dave |

What you need to do is pull the steering wheel and tach out of the way. Behind the tach is the wiper motor. There is a nut holding the actuator shaft to the motors splined shaft. Remove the nut and arm, turn wiper motor on and let it park. Reattach and you should be good.

I read about going thru tach and clock, but I wanted to tight'n up the linkage for the wipers. A bit sloppy. I have priced the whole thing and new is over $400. Called LA Dismantllers and they weren't cheap either. I'm gona pull it out and figure out a way to replace the bushing.

Red arrow is hard to see, ran out of ink....Finally got it fixed and back together. FAIK, there aren't any parts for repair on the wiper linkage. A new one is around $500. Picture 1, red arrow, shows where the slack was. Took it to a welder and all is tight. Picture 2 is after the repair, and picture 3, wipers parking to the right, is why it all started.
