Porsche Crest G50 Tranny

Hello Pelicans, I have a G 50 AWD tranny from a 89-90 964 C4 car, I want to install in my 86 along with a 3.6L engine ,the question is : how easy is to remove the 4WD cone if possible at all and what is there available for blocking OFF the front end of the tranny ?

Thanks for all who want to chime in !

The 964 G64 trans isn't amenable to this kind of t/p. The latter 993 G64s can be used as they are essentially g50s w/ a removable AWD section added on to the front.

The 964 G64s are a totally different and unique animal which have a concentric shaft output arrangement that is going to be extremely expensive to by pass.

If you have a g50 or 993 g64 then the t/p is still going to be a bear as the, t-bar and tunnel structure will have to be extensively modified to accept the much bigger g50 trans.

Not something to be approached w/ a light attitude or wallet.

As Bill has stated this is really a no go. That gearbox is like no other gearbox in the g50 family and would be extremely difficult and expensive to make 2wd.
