HSR 24 Hours of Daytona Classic 2015
So last year, they started the Classic 24 at Daytona, under the premise of running 6 classes, 1 hour a piece, 4 times over the course of 24 hours... I could only go this past Thursday because I have my son over the weekend, and darn it - we still have a couple of more years to go before I can take him along!
Anyhow, the experience - as you can very well imagine - was spectacular. All too many of these guys were thrashing the cars around and literally trying to drive the wheels off of them. The smell, the sound - it was fantastic and I highly recommend. You are not likely to get this much machinery stateside anytime soon. As a heads up, I am no professional photographer - just an avid fan - and all the pics were taken with my iPhone 5. Yes, they could look better, but that's not my purpose of taking them and sharing with you all. Hope you enjoy. Btw, that's a real 3.0 as well as ST! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Kevin Jeannette had an impressive, impressive roster of badas* machinery... His son, Gunnar, probably wringed the most of out any other driver on a car when I was there - he was piloting the '99' Rothmans 962!

There was tons of talent - from a machinery perspective... So, unless anyone asks, I will only post pics of Porsche content...

The owner of the Jägermeister 935 K3 is a chiropractor and he also owns the 944 Turbo - isn't life grand when business is good?

Yes - that is THE Flying Lizards 997 driven by Bergmeister and Long that conquered everything... Ditto for the Miller sponsored 962!

The weather was amazing, the crowds were barely there (most people would presumably arrive for the race today), and the event was very well organized going by the scheduled track times for each category...

I was surprised that no one else appears to have posted pics of this Porsche-heavy event already...

Okay - enough for now as I have a baby who prefers me spending time playing with him now for the last few minutes... But, I think you all get the picture and I think I managed to squeeze all the Stuttgart content I had. The last pic was my ride for the day, as my 911 is at the shop getting stuff done to it.
Hope you guys like the pics! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Great event! Camped overnight with my 5 year old son. There is nothing in the world like waking to the wale of a classic V8 or Flat 6 40ft from where you are sleeping!
I took pictures with a proper camera, so I'll up load some later. If you have the chance to go to this event the next time it happens, do it! Even the rep from Goodwood was there talking about how good it was. -Steve

I just got home. Four days and about 2000 pictures later. It will take weeks before I can go thru them and post them on Flickr.
Weather was good. No rain. Kinda windy today, but not as cold as last year.
