Another "where does this plug go"? - In the frunk below passenger side hood hinge
Had another wild hair while tinkering tonight. Was trying to fix my luggage compartment light that never worked and found another identical shaped plug right next to the one the trunk lid switch was connected to. It had the same wire colors as the switch so I swapped plugs and sure enough the light immediately turned on and worked perfectly.
So my question is, what is this other plug for the switch was connected to? It has a solid brown wire and black w/ green stripe. I searched and looked at some wiring schematics but had no luck identifying it by color. As with all PO antics, I get nervous that it wasn't plugged into the right connector for a reason. Would like to find out what the other one is used for. ![]()

I had the same issue and when I plugged in the other plug sure enough the boot light came on. Only problem was it never shut off. I haven't gotten back to it so subscribed.

Can anyone I identify the two wire plug (brown and black w/ green stripe) for an '87 Carrera on a wiring diagram? All the ones I found didn't conclusively list the wire colors.

Probably not entirely the answer you're looking for, as I don't know what it's for, but my 88 has the same unused connector and I've seen no ill effects. I've just assumed it's for an option I don't have, such as premium sound or alarm system.
