This is not the first and most likely not the last thread on the pros and cons of the Pertronix Ignitor and 911's. It seems there is little middle ground, those who have tried them either love them or hate them. I installed the Pertronix in my '74 in 2002 and it is still going strong so count me in the former group. I do keep the points I pulled back then in the glove compartment but am not sure why anymore.

Yesterday morning he posts this on my Facebook page: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1450702956.jpg I said "Awwwww" It got 28 "Likes" So I return the favor and post on his Facebook a nice picture from a college football game between a school from his state (Oregon) and a school from my state (Ohio). Boom! He blows his stack. You never know with Steve. It's like, what did I do? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1450704136.jpg http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/13/sports/ncaafootball/ohio-state-upsets-oregon-and-wins-national-championship.html?_r=0 |
So, moral of this story is of course 'if it ain't broke don't try and fix it'. I gave up and put my points back in as the Pertronix set up would not start my car. I put the points back in but kept the Flamethrower, still won't start. Put the old Bosch distributor back on, still won't start. Why oh why did I touch what was working fine! Looks like the holidays will be spent on the car and not in it, damn it!!
