The thread Steve W talked about burning the O2 sensor tip

Regarding the thread Steve W talked about burning the O2 sensor tip to clean it... I have a chance to take the O2 sensor off my car, it looks whitish. I want to take this chance to burn/clean it, but I can't find the thread to make sure how. Anyone saved the link?

Test and replace it if needed, they are cheap.

Garage
If it's whitish wouldn't that mean it's clean (like a lean-running spark plug)? You'd think burning would only benefit it if it was carboned or gunked up...

My car is running fine. In fact, it just passed smog. I just want to clean it since it's out.
