Im not sure if its the "right" official tool, but I used a motorcycle shock wrench similar to this one.

I don't know what the tool number is but it looks pretty much like a motorcycle shop tool. It's pictured in the factory manuals.
Just buy a motorcycle shop tool of the correct size. They are easy to find and cheap. JR |

I think the $20 moto shock tool is called "(universal) preload adjuster"

Have somebody help you, then. One to hold the washer, one to tighten the nut.

Channellocks worked to hold the washer in place while I torqued it down to 58lbs.
I installed the new single bore mounting plates. Thanks to BFT3.2 for giving me his spare cup washers. I prefer the extra room...
