What hose do I need?

Hi,

I have some oil leaks on the tube from the oil tank to the oil cooler.
So, I ordered the S-hose with PET-number "911 107 233 00".

But, I noticed that my connection is different then expected. See also the pictures included.
The black circle is the 'strange' connection, the red line is where the hose is running to.

The previous owner(s) cut the S-hose, so it fits to this connection, I could also do that. But I'd like to make it as original as possible again.

How it this hose normally connected to the oil cooler? Does anyone has a picture of that?

Now I realize that maybe the normal connection broke of, so they created this solution to get the hose connected.

Thanks in advance!

Looks like you have an early cooler with a threaded connection instead of a slip on. They used the original angled metal hose end to adapt the hose.

Ah, that explains some thing.
What kind of hose (PET number) was connected to that oil cooler and will that fit the oil tank?

The oil tank in early cars was threaded also. the old hose has metal two piece fittings on both ends. A hose was cut, an aluminum collar slipped on, then the tapered end pieces were screwed into the hose until they butted up to the collar. So you have a mix and match.

Allright, thanks for the reply!
That means that 1 also should cut my hose and put it on this metal connection piece.

Thanks! This explains exactly what's going on.

I'll cut my new hose and put it on like the previous owner did. Once the oil cooler needs a replacement I'll fit the correct one (and hose).
