Post Thermal Reactor By-Pass on Turbo Motor pros cons

I'm getting close to installing the Turbo motor. What can I do to bypass the thermal reactors ? I can fabricate exhaust plumbing, any recommendations? Thanks.

there was a 3 tube replacement for the reactors, but you could use SC exchangers and find a late style side pipe to mount the wastegate and turbo. gets rid of the whole worthless early system. exchangers and the crossover pipe are everywhere, cheap. use the thick flange style. search classifieds and this board for the side pipe. the turbo oil sump needs to be updated if you do this, or get the small one from windward or other suppliers.

I had this exhaust system on my 3.3T, small "shorty headers" were used to replace the thermal reactors. They are useless in gaining power. They may reduce heat, but no gain in power. As John stated, you can put together a good system using SC exchangers. The way I handled this problem was to find a nice used Euro 930 exhaust system. Paid $500 for it, worth every penny IMHO.
