OEM Euro Pre Muffler sound comparison..

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has a Euro Pre Muffler...What does it sound like with a 1 in and 1 out? Is it similar to M&K's, a Dansk...Or?

Thanks in advance

It's basically identical to the Dansk, except the Dansk is stainless steel vs mild steel for the Euro pre muffler. The Euro also doesn't have an O2 sensor bung. I think Dansk may have built the premufflers for PAG.
I have a Dansk premuffler/cat bypass on my 3.6 with a Dansk sport muffler. Sounds
great. Not loud at all, but has a nice rumble at idle and a nice power sound when you get on it!
Here's a Dansk

Here's a factory Euro pre muffler. Looks like it had a O2 bung retrofitted.

Depends on your muffler choice for noise. Performance wise, when I installed mine I noticed the engine breathing better and reving freely all the way up to redline. The reduced back pressure from the loss of the catalytic converter also meant a mild loss of low to midrange RPM torque. You can hear the burps and gurgles on coast down better with the exhaust opened up as well.

Stock early Pre-Mufflers will come without an O2 bung, but one can be welded in for around $50 from a muffler shop. Just tell them where to put it and make sure you bring an old O2 sensor so they get the thread size right. The issue with this is your O2 sensor only "sees" one bank of 3 cylinders. Dansk units will collect gases from both banks and give the O2 sensor a better average.

I have a pretty free flowing M&K exhaust, so your results will be different with a different muffler set up. I had similar results with a B&B style magna flow set up.

what I know is the euro premuffler have diff diameters on the inner perforated tube. It came in smaller then becomes bigger diameter at the end. This is why it reduce a lot of noise? even when you speed up at high RPM (compares to any other with straight pipe or straight inner perforated core/tube)

Just some info re what I chose to go with...I would have preferred the M&K pre muffler but with our Canadian dollar dropping so much, due to the low price of oil, I ended up purchasing the polished SS Dansk. (our dollar is now worth 30% less than the US $)

I have a SS B&B performance muffler and now coupled with the Dansk pre muffler, the sound is basically what I wanted. It sounds great when idling and it is not 'loud' nor is there any droning at highway speeds. As Merlinfe stated, the burbs and gurgles do sound great when slowing down for say a stop sign.

When I installed the Dansk I also purchased a chip from Steve Wong. I should have maybe driven it with just the exhaust update before installing the chip to see what the difference was between them. I do though now have a very big smile when driving it as the performance is quite amazing due to having the sports muffler, pre muffler, with Steve's chip.
All that I can say now is Wow! - What a difference!!

It is definitely quieter than the M&K or straight pipe Cat By Pass.

Per Rnln, after installing at his house, we were both surprised at how much quieter it was compared to the M&K.

I have my air box cut up so at higher RPMs, she starts to scream louder than stock set up.

Glad you like the new set up! I just finished the install on SSIs and a Dansk GT3 2in2out. The sound is nasty.
