First time changing my oil on my 1988 (non turbo).
When I pulled my engine oil plug, I failed to notice which way the spring set up was installed. Please look at pics This way? ![]() or... this way? ![]() thanks |

You pulled the wrong plug, that is the oil bypass valve.
Pelican probably has a schematic.

and per PAG schematics, first picture is the orientation.
Look up the torque specs, do not over tighten it or you will have a permanent oil leak or worse damage the casing.

Please look or download from PAG your 3.2 Katalog, so you can verify for yourself.

That's the oil pressure relief valve not the drain plug. When you reinstall it the brass piece sits in the plug to support the spring.
