Building a better Black Beauty #4: Rear Bodywork
Things are moving quickly. Here are the new fiberglass flares. You'll see that the torsion bars are out, so the car is slammed as low as it can go. And the shortcomings of the 10-inch wheels, even with a 1-inch spacer, are apparent. The 11's will allow 40mm more tire in back.

Tres Chic Jack!
Those flares look tremendous... You're going to need a neck brace from the G-force all that rubber will give you!

You're right, Bill. 10-inch wheels (with 1-inch spacers) don't begin to fill out the new fenders.
Here's the image doctored to approximate the actual tire width. The ride height and camber are still way off, of course. ![]() Oh, and on the wheels. It's probably going to be a couple of weeks before I'm ready to ship them. This weekend, I'm going to try and email the guys who expressed an interest in them (either through emails or BBS posts). Basically, I'll give whoever contacted me first the first shot at buying them. There are two sets, one with 9-inch rears, and one with 10-inch rears. Both sets of fronts are identical 8's. Email me at jackolsen@attbi.com if you want to get on the list.

Here's another 'tire-corrected' shot, as well as one of the 72 oil tank, which is getting cleaned up in prepararion for being chopped and expanded, so that it can still fit in the stock location, but have enough capacity to reliably feed a hungry 3.6.

Yup, all of the body pieces are from Rennspeed.
They also supplied the front swaybar mount and a pair of longitudinal supports that are going to get welded to the inside sills. Peter (at Rennspeed) is great to deal with and his prices are just plain unbeatable. rennspeed@4dcomm.com Also, I've got the RS book (copy 647/3000). It's pricey, but a pretty great book.

Hey Jack!
Your 'R' tail lamps are on the way - those small lamps should look cool on that car!

Just out of interest Jack. How much are you looking for, for the 8's & 9's?
EDIT: Forgot to ask- Will you still run the 1" spacers with the new 11" wheels? Lookin' good! ![]()

Very cool Jack. It loooks like you are really incorporating the lessons learned from BBI into BBI to make a superior car.
