				Which MSD?

Hi. Could anyone advise which MSD ignition would best suit a 2.2 1970 911t? Serial number? Anyone have experience with the outcome of fitting an MSD ignition to a 2.2? Cheers..

I used the streetfire on my 930-10 3.0...9.8-1 comp. and it works great, fits in the old CDI spot and with a plug (Timmy2) just plug it in and go. (MSD coil/Clewitt wires/non resistor rotor...napa Echlin eb 407) At 138 bucks I bought two and have a spare in the smugglers box. However, many like the more 'sparky' 6 units. The streetfire is hotter than the stock CDI but closest to it in specs/volts etc.

Ill second timmy2s plug and play solution. I am using the MSd6 AL digital. At a minimum you should contact him for wiring info. It makes for a very clean install and no cutting of your factory wires.

I'd have the original Bosch box updated to digital by ************ or if you can afford it update the box to the new digital box offered here on Pelican by those Brits who do the fuse boxes.

His CDI is a 3 pin unit, so the 6 pin adapter plug you guys are using won't work for this application.

I'll be posting a new-in-box MSD 6AL/Blaster(2?) coil, and a new set of magnacore wires that were going in my SC race car before I folded it up very soon in the Parts section...

MSD street fire works great for my 2.7 and I had the 3 pin Permatune originally. It's not exactly bolt on, but awfully close in size and attachment holes. Much better looking than the 6AL sized models.

T MSD Streetwise is certainly aggressively priced and it does work well. My favorite is the Daytona-Sensors CD1 which comes with the coil in the kit I have been using one for 6 years and love it. Very well made and a ton of features. $600 range. It has features like full data logging spark advance etc..

Oops, I almost forgot I made a number of these for 3 pin CDI adapters. connects switched power, coil positive and distributor point s from original 3 pin connector to your MSD or other type CDI wiring.
