There at least a couple of ways to do this.
1. You can tap a couple of the small holes adjacent to the fan pulley half. Then use a couple of bolts, and slowly thread them in, alternating from side to side. to drive the fan off. 2. Use a 3 legged gear puller....wrap tape or some other soft stuff around the puller feet to ensure no damage to the fan occurs. These both work well and there are probably other ways..........we'll see who chimes in.

Use 2 or 3 blocks of wood to support the fan housing, so that the alternator hangs down but doesn't contact the table. Then lift it up a few inches and drop it onto the blocks. 2 or 3 times and the alternator will drop right out.

Been using the block method for years. You can use some penetrant as well.

I just did the wood block method and it worked like a charm for me. Give it a try.

I used a bucket with rags in it to catch the alternator once the housing let it go using the 2x4's placed on the rim of the bucket.
