3.2 chain tensioner failed before oil pipe sostitution?

hi/ciao! on my 3.2 carrera 84
leaking oil over the small tube that carries oil to the tensioner, string string .... classic "crash" from the bolt of the tapered union (sxxt)
[img]http://
I buy a new one, comes after a WEEK...I mount and "rattle rattle" to almost all the rpm..change oil (agip 10W-60) and filter (the bottom is like a hydraulic tappet)...now makes noise just below 1200/1500 rpm...perhaps I am wanting to clean the compartment I sprayed gasoline and something went in..."mea culpa"...what bothers me and that before NOT making noise now....sure the engine has at least 200.000km ... the chains can stretch ..but not suddenly...the pressure is corrected to 4/5 hot-cold 3.5...I remember making noise for 10-15 sec cold -5 C°...but once in 100/500 starts...uff uff uff

Ciao Dan... Just drove east coast of Italy from Venizia to Leuca---great time!

Is difficult to understand what you are asking. Fai la tua domanda semplicemente. (Make your question simple.)

Ciao Dan,

I think you are trying to say you suspect either the tensioner failed or chain stretched causing noises/rattle under the chain covers.

Okay, first try to duplicate the noise with out the fan belt or ac belt installed and use a stethescope to isolate which side if any noise occurs during this test.

We have to make sure the noise is not a failed alternator bearing.

The leak is it coming from the BANJO fitting, if so, it may not be the fitting but the tensioner O-ring just under the chain covers. Ask me How I know.

I do not believe so but our 3.2 tensioners are pretty dependable. I would be surprised if it failed.

Try to do the noise test without the fan belt and ac belt on but only for a very short time to reproduce the noise and figure out which side is making the noise.

It could also be worn out chain ramps. This will require you to remove the covers.
