Sepia Brown not so bad after all

We just painted a 1971 Porsche for a Customer in Sepia Brown.
Contrary to many opinions, Sepia Brown is not so bad.

When someone says "It's not so bad...", it usually is. I'm just sayin'.

It is my least favorite color and least favorite body style. I'd still have it though...

There's a Porsche color that I can only describe as "butterscotch" that I've always liked. This is very nice too!

I'm not a Targa fan though.

It's a beautiful color as we see it, but it would look quite different in full sun, I suspect. Maybe not bad, but different.

Sepia is one of the most beautiful colors on a 911

Nice when well maintained....looks like a floating turd when not. Probably the hardest to keep up except for black.

What color was it orginally? Bahama yellow? Signal Orange? Sand beige?

Yes.

Technically, it does not grow on you, but seeps in ya - hence the name.

Thumbs up

I am either mellowing with age or just becoming nostalgic, but I do like them for the correct era cars (Porsche and other makes as well).

Old people really like the color and it doesn't seem to stir up officers of the law like a flashier color might!

+1. This one looks especially good in diffused light. I like that it's period correct, and the silver / chrome trim looks great with it. It's let down a little by the black rear window trim and the black trimmed front and rear turn signal lenses.

For sure...overall she's a beauty!

I bought a brand new '73 914 2.0 in '74 that was Sepia Brown and I always liked it. Of course the paint always look like it was just waxed too. Nice job.

Sepia Brown Porsche

Thank you for all your thoughts

BMC Classics,Inc started the work January 3rd and worked 7 days a week to finish on time.
All was disassembled except the rear window for fear of breakage and the Budget we had.
The car is a birthday present for the Owners wife and needs to be in Europe End of February.
