Yea I think mine are two orange colored. Then again I think I'm just more of a factory look type of guy. Prolly going back to original and also plan on ditching the aftermarket RUF style valance for the original.

Does the valance serve a purpose? I mean is the a central mounted oil cooler sitting behind the inlets. If not, it does seem a bit silly to have that over the original valance. The color of the wheels would be fine, IMO, if you car was a different color. Not sure how well they compliment black. They look similar in color style to what I have seen on some S/T wheels.

No oil cooler. This valance replaces the factory one; it's not installed over it. And I know it's hard to tell but my car is shwarz metallic which has a dark bronze flake that is more apparent in sunlight Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Plasti dipped them black 2 years ago...sprayed copper "metalicizer" plasti dip over the black yesterday. This is a common recipe with several examples online.

Do the gold-bronze metalizeres ahve to go over plasti dip or can they be used on other surfaces?

I think the copper looks amazing in the pics, but like JP-oh said you need some contrast. Before you ditch the whole thing, why not try the background 'webs' in black with the spokes and lip left in the copper color?

I think if you had the Porsche badge on the center caps that would really set them off.

How did you prep the wheels? Mine are polished and the plastidip started to lift around the wheel lugs, bubbled and came off. How did you go round the wheel lugs? |

No real prep other than cleaning before spraying the copper metalizer dip onto the previously black dipped wheels. I took the wheels off he car to do this. Used 2 cans of copper.
I do have the porsche badge on the center but it's copper colored. Not sure if the metalicizer has to be sprayed on a previously dipped surface or not. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Just washed the wheelers prior to spraying the copper. Took the lugs and painted them black with rustoleum. Poked 20 nails into a pice of cardboard then set the legs over the nails so I could paint all sides of them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

A darker bronze might be a more traditional throw back to Porsche 917 Wheels and match your colors better, but the extra life and spunk of this more forward copper color works well enough.
Let them get a little dirty from some brake dust, and they will be perfect.

The color is something I mixed up , a tad of gold with some silver Auto paint I had left over. Color is very similar to the plastic coat vintage gold.
