PMO vac line / check valve

Installing some PMO 46's on my engine an don't know if I need both of these pieces. Do I need both the elbow and check or do you install the check directly into the manifold?

That's the vacuum for the power brakes. You need to tap off both sides to have a constant vacuum.

the trick set up for vac. brake booster is an electric pump mounted in the front. then just plug off the ports.

PMO Manifold Brake Booster

Not doubting Flat6pac's recommendation - but I've been running my '83 with a single line off of the manifold for over a year now and never noticed any issues.

Only 1 of my PMO manifolds had a port for the brake booster.

I ran a straight threaded to nipple fitting (brass) off of the manifold and connected it to a hose with an inline check valve (yes, you need a check valve) then connected to the original hose for the booster.

Looking great - Good luck.

start here and there are others, search for "electric vacuum pump"

Ayle -

Did you run your setup before you installed the pump? I may start off without it and test out how the DC60's do on the vacuum side.

No, I went with the pump from the start. Probably worth noting that I have Webers and not PMO. I was a little turned off by tapping/drilling them. Additionally the price of that metric mind pump has gone up substantially since I bought mine in 2013.

It looks like you have a pretty good solution out of the box from PMO.

I have the same setup as Gordo and my vacuum-boosted brakes in the '79 have worked just fine with lumpy Web 149i (modified S) cams or Web 120/104 cams and Weber carbs. One tap into cyl. runner #2 with an appropriately sized drill bit for a 3/8 NPT adapter fitting with a large barbed hose nipple to connect up with a check valve
