Amber Fog Lights

It was warm day in Ohio so I figured I'd take the car out of hibernation. Installed the battery and she started right up and ran like it never slept for 4 months. This winter I got a pair of amber Bosch fog light lenses from a guy in Germany. I really like how it looks on my car.

Every car ive owned i put amber fogs on. Which color is that? Looks pretty close to Granite Green.

It's Gemini Gray Metallic.

Are amber the euro standard on fogs? If so, for what model years?

I dont know if it's a standard in Europe. But I have always read that yellow lights are easier to spot and notice in actual fog. France used to have a law while back that even main headlights had to be yellow.

The French yellow headlight practice started around WW2 as a way to differentiate french civilian vehicles from those of the enemy. Now they're illegal except if the vehicle was first registered before their law changed.

We were mandated to put the amber covers when taking factory
delivery in '86 in order to accommodate the French laws.

Still have them on the car.

The clear lenses are still in the box-never did put them on the car..

Another option is vinyl sheet available in yellow, and all sorts of other colors, on eBay. This has Benin on my car for over 4 years and also protects the original, clear lens. Cheap, too, less than $10.

I'm digging the fogs and the H1's. Makes me want to pull my old valance out of storage and put them back.
