Well, physics finally caught up with me

Last night, I was taking a girl for a ride and thought I'd lay the back end out a little, as I'm apt to do. Unfortunately, going around a corner, the back end completely broke loose. Fortunately, I wasn't going that fast and managed to get the car stopped without hitting anything or having anyone hit me. Also, the back end didn't come all the way around, it just kind of fish-tailed and we ended facing the same direction.

I don't know what I did differently. My only thoughts are that the tires were too cold and/or that there was gravel on the road. I guess I'll take it a little easier when the weather's cold.

P.S. The girl took it pretty well - she didn't scream or anything, which would likely have made the situation worse.

Them girls you're dating are too light! Need to find a girl with some substance to her.

Though, if she didn't flip out about doing a 180, she might be a keeper...

Hey Steve--a good "I meant to do that" in your best Pewee Herman voice would have been appropriate at the time. I've had lots of close calls myself and they tend to settle my driving down at least for awhile anyway. How bout this Omaha weather lately?? Lots of extra December driving time.

From what you are sharing, I would probably agree with you, in that your tires were too cold along with cold pavement.

As they say, keep the shiney side up!!

Well, actually, the physics were the same--it was a lack of judgment that caught up to you...

The things testosterone makes us men do........

Like passing a bunch of cars on a forest road on a Yamaha FZR1000 with girlfriend on back, doing 140+ MPH......
