Best RS style light weight carpet set?
Kinda the same question as what is the best RS Door panels, I see RS light weight carpet sets from $780.00 to $250.
Does anyone have experience as to what brands (or sellers) offer different styles and prices and what to look for? Thanks! |

Ok, I'll be the first to say it.....use the search option, this topic as well as door panels has been discussed numerous times.
Now that that's out of the way, Appbiz is popular (I believe our host offers), and there are others. What is your approach to buying a suit, or a pair if shoes? You get what you pay for. More in expensive will be flimsy and thin...likely pattern problems. More expensive will be a better quality better fitting product.

Thanks Mickey;
While no question I stand rightly accused of lazyness on the search issue, I only wish that a more expensive suit is always a better suit, but alas that isn't always correct. I have a soft spot for suits, custom made shirts and ties, and typically the most expensive is not the best, not to mention there is always that great little shop, just around the corner, with lower overhead that makes a better product for less..... Just trying to find who makes a better product first and cost becomes secondary best |

I can not comment on which is best. The wisdom I can share is that just like paint, the quality of the job is more about the prep, and the guy doing the job, than it is the price of the paint. But it never hurts to have nice paint.
Here is my Appbiz RS lightweight plush kit that I am finishing off. Don't mind that the part that covers the rear seat bottoms is just laid in place in this photo. It will need a bit of trimming. I had to alter a few pieces to get a spot on fit... but then I did up a custom underlay which threw off some of the fitment, but in general made fitment much better (but a few pieces would have needed adjustments even without that). To be honest, I could not imagine installing carpets to bare metal in our cars... so many lumps and bumps to create wrinkles and ugliness.

Don't buy a carpet set from Vertex, I installed one in a 1988 Targa and was not happy with the fitment.
