replacing bottom rear jump seats.
Replaced the rugs in my 82 targa. How do I reinstall the bottoms of the rear jump seats? Tried using the same upholstery glue I used on some of the rugs, but nothing seems to hold the lower jump seat in place. The glue seems to just soak into the fiber under the seat section. I also tried some industrial velcro, but it won't stick to the bottom of the fiber material on bottom of the seat.
Any and all suggestions appreciated. |

Judging from the amount of goop that I had to scrape/clean off of the area when I did mine, I ended up just brushing a LOT of Weldwood contact cement to the bottoms (I didn't carpet them completely, leaving some of the base exposed so the seat wouldn't be totally glued to the carpet), let it dry completely as a base, then brush on another liberal amount, coat the area on the floor where it was to sit, then take my best guess as to alignment and just press it into place, holding it still for about 30 seconds or so, then letting it be for a while. When I checked it later, and gently tried to slide the seat around, it didn't budge. When you think about it, those seats are only suitable for not much more than a toddler, and most of the stress on them is pushing down vertically, so you shouldn't have much problem after reinstalling them.

3m super90. spray 2-3 coats on the bottom and the seatpan, alternating directions, let it tack up, mate.

Isn't that the truth! I have the front seat out right now and sat in the back seat for the first time ever. Couldn't even sit up straight!
