Is there a fuse guide posted somewhere?
I'm having an issue with my window switch fuses popping over and over. Obviously there's a short.
My fuses look as old as the car. Figure might as well replace them and put a big set of spares in the car. Is there a guide posted somewhere so I can confirm the correct fuse sizes are currently in the car? Follow up question, where do you get these "suppository style" fuses? I'm guessing the local parts store would not carry them. |
Pelican carries them. The guide is on the fuse cover.

Bentley Maintenance manual.........
If you have a Bentley Maintenance Manual, look at the chart or table for your specific car model. Look at the appendix for 'fuse'. Or simply use the previous suggestions.

Where did you get that? |
Lots of good discussion here, and various formats of fuse diagrams, if you scan the whole thread:

Make sure your fuses have a ceramic center not plastic.
|
Also be aware that cars of our age may have had modifications to their fuse layout. My own '79 had a few fuses moved around.
So while it is fine to use the official guides to find the right amperage, don't assume the positions are going to be correct. |

Feel free to download and modify to suit your car (if you have MS Visio). |
Ahhhhhhhh
I bought a grip of fuses cheap.....they're plastic. Where can I get ceramic ones? Sorry for the Hijack....Scott

Where can I find a fuse guide like the one TKmoore posted for his 88? I have an 85 and would like something model specific if I can find one.
The embossed diagram on the inside of the plastic fuse panel is almost impossible for me to read. |
