2.2S help!

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen!

I have a 1970 911T Targa. I have installed a 2.2S engine with MFI. I am unable to get the tach or the cold start enrichment to work. I have tested the tach and it appears it is not the problem. I have also supplied 12V to the cold start solenoid and it works. So I believe my problem lies in the electrical thingy on the drivers side of the engine compartment. Can anybody point me to documentation on how to test the applicable components, such as RPM transducer, etc.. Or better yet, explain the procedures? I have the haynes manual, workshop manuals and the PP downloads, but I couldn't find what I need. Please advise!
