				Unable to align/assemble Cat Bypass

Hello all. My first post here, hope it's in the right spot. I am in the process of replacing my Catalytic converter with a Cat bypass. This unit was previously installed (and later removed) by the previous owner. I have the engine side of the bypass attached, bolts still loose. I am unable to mate the muffler because of bypass misalignment to the outboard side 1". I loosened the muffler clamps and have about 1/2" of misalignment remaining. Wondering if the primary/secondary muffler is on a slotted mount to allow for further adjustment? Any input would be greatly appreciated. 1991 C2. Bone stock condition. | ||

I had to loosen the exhaust manifold and jiggle to get the alignment set up. I didn't need to touch the muffler.

Figured it out!!!!! The inner heat shield was just a hair to wide from centerline. This prevented the Bypass from fitting properly. Since the Bypass runs cooler than a Cat, there is no heat risk to surrounding structure, I removed the shield. I am amazed at the improvement in sound and a noticeable difference in performance!!!!
