Chasing tail lights - right side-

My rear right side tail lights are not working- but I am power to the gray wire with red stripe when I pull the light switch. The blinker works, brake lights the reverse light works and the hazard lights are good- but just not the tail lights, the bulb elements are good too.....

out of the same multi pin plug is the oil level sending unit that is also not working ( unit works when I run a wire direct- )

Which wire powers the tail lights? Here are the pictures -

Bulb not seating on the tabs!

I think I found the problem - tabs were bent in and bulb not hitting on one - naturally broke the clip on the housing - so been epoxing all afternoon- but hopefully that is solved.

Leaves me with sending unit wire - still not sure where the break is...i know it is one of the 8 pins above tail light. I guess I need to take the shearing back and look for the red yellow wire..

Thanks for posting - I commented before hitting refresh.

The test light showed power to the tabs....I will check where the bulb makes contact. I am questing it will have power,

Thanks again

Problem fixed

It was the tab -

Now to trace the oil sender line - appears to be green/ black from gauge to connector plug above tail light

Love making progress - even if it's one wire at a time

I found the oil sending gauge issue -

There was a break in the hot wire that gOes from gauge to sending unit. I found the break accused somewhere between the 8 pin connector and the sending unit.

The hot wire is green with a white stripe form gauge and it runs that way all the way to the connector above the right tail ligh, after the connector there is a yellow and red wire to sending unit,

Jumping the connector plug as seen in the photo- gauge is working!

Hope this helps someone in the future.....
