Before and After.....what a diff!

Just wanted to share my new ride. Here are some before/after pictures today after lowering, corner balance, and alignment. Here are my specs:

LF - 619 lbs.
LR - 985 lbs.
RF - 601 lbs.
RR - 967 lbs.

Front weight - 38.5%
Rear weight - 61.5%
Car weight (with driver)- 3172 lbs. wow, what a difference compared to my SC

Front Specs:
Camber Left - 1.5 neg
Camber Right - 1.5 neg
Caster Left - 5.0 pos
Caster Right - 5.0 pos
Toe In - 1/16

Rear Specs:
Camber Left - 2.0 neg
Camber Right - 2.0 neg
Toe In - 1/8

Fender Heights:
Front - 24.75
Rear - 24.50

I get my cup2 wheels tomorrow with some Yoko es100's. I can't wait. Damn, I feel like I'm 16 years old driving for the first time!

That car's going to look good when you get the cup wheels on there. Not that it doesn't look good now, I just don't care for the "Design 90" wheels.

Funny thing, I was picking up some new tires at American Tire and what do i see in the parking lot - a car wit hthe license plate "schubee." Sure enough Schubee (John) was standingat the counter pickign himself up some new tires! Small world.

I must say the pics do not do justice to the car. It is a beautiful car.

My car is set with Toe-in both front and rear. Just spoke to a friend with a 993 and very reputable shop prefers front toe OUT and rear toe IN. Claims to make better turn-in and rear toe IN keeps car stable at high speeds. Any thoughts?

looks good, will look even better with some cup2s and I foresee some 993 mirrors in your future as well. Where in So Cal are you located and more importantly who did the lowering/corner balancing for you? I've got new tires on the way and I'm looking for a place that will mount them, lower the car, corner balance and align it. BTW, my cars an '83 SC........I know this will probably run me a good amount of money, but as long as it's reasonable for the work being done and my car comes out looking/handling better I'm happy.

I have heard that toe out can make a car very touchy, but then I guess it depends on what your preferences are. Some people would be completely happy driving open pipes, stiff suspension, and a race shell on a daily basis, and others want a ride like a caddy that's cushy and quiet. I haven't tried it, but I think toe out sounds like it could be a tad much for the street, but then I do drive with both hands and enjoy the feedback I get through the wheel, so it might just make things more fun. I'm thinking 0 toe might be the limit for the street for me.

I run toe out on the front, it does make the car turn in much better but the price you pay is the car will "turn in" better all the time, meaning you need to really be on the stick on the freeway and at speed. It does not take much to change lanes, and if you are distracted the car will not track straight for too long.
