well hell, I figured that I had a couple of empty relay spots in my fuse/relay panel, so I used factory relays, wired to match the wiring diagram that came with your new relay kit, and VIOLA !

Unfortunately, so are the new Porsche ones. Look closely, they are made in China.

This is why we fit Panasonic relays to our fuse panels, rated for 1 miilion cycles.

I like the idea of easily being able to swap them out with normal relays rather than having to order these round ones..eventually going to move the whole system over to blade fuses also

What is this based on? Early on I used a few different brands of relays and had reports of 3 or 4 bad relays over a few years. Once I stabilized on a good source for Tyco/Bosch relays I have had no reports of issues. I have sold at least 3000 units in this configuration.

I did work on using the factory parts in a kit, but it would cost hundreds of dollars. Great idea for the DIYer with used parts, though.

No problems with your relays in the 5 years I've been running them.
You are right, at $60 or so per factory relay base, the cost goes way up!
Your product works so well I haven't even made new bases for myself to change over to a "factory appearance"

I've been running my Tyco relays on my car for 10 years, no problems. I got one of Marc Sucro's kits.

Ditto.

Don't even remember how long ago. No problems here either.
I haven't gotten around to re-wiring to the headlight buckets and replace the headlight sockets. On my list though.

jw

Maybe not real pretty but is hidden behind the carpet.

I've found it harder to get actual Bosch or Tyco branded relays, everyone makes "Bosch style" ones but most seem to be Chinese.

Now, I'm also a self proclaimed amazon whore, and will go there first and fast, but I have had trouble finding good relays there.

It seems like:
Bosch 0 332 019 150/151 is the basic 30A, NO relay with 2 pins linked as 87, either with/without a mounting lug.
Bosch 0 332 209 150/151/152 is the basic 30A, NO/NC relay with 87 and 87a, with mounting lug/ no lug/diode inline

All are standard Bosch 5 pin orientation.

Good comprehensive description of the basic Bosch style relays.

^ There is a simple solution, search for the data sheet. All decent manufacturers publish the mechanical and electrical expected cycles for relays. if you can't find the data sheet, don't buy the product!
