AC evaporator motor- where does the wiring come from prior to the white connector?
Just learned that my AC evaporator fan blower does not run (after completing an underdash rewire). I need some Pelican / Kuehl brain trust assist here. Where do the two wires that go into the white connector (Red w/ white stripe, and Brown) originate from? I've determined that the brown wire is not grounded, but I lose it visually as it dives behind the fan housing. Do they just disappear into a wrapped harness, or do they terminate somewhere where I can inspect them?
I've found that: 1. The fan WILL turn on when I take apart the white connector and jump it with auxiliary from a battery charger. 2. At that same connector, the red w/ white stripe wire from the harness DOES have 12V power when the key is on and the AC switch is calling for AC. So it appears that the car is asking the fan to run. (All the other Kuehl-supplied auxiliary AC condensers fans are running like mad at this step.) 3. HOWEVER, when I plug the harness connector together, the blower motor does not run. 4. If I jump the connector so that the car supplies the 12v to the red wire on fan, but I jump the earth side of the connector to direct ground, the fan runs. I could run a local ground and be done with this, but my OCD would like to know where that ground wire terminates on the body. Maybe something else shares it and I just haven't encountered it. thanks Ken

Per the Bentley diagram page 970-49:
From the evap the red/white wire goes to the AC blower switch at console and also to the temperature bimetal switch located at passenger side footwell under the board. I would check the connections and continuity there. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks guys. I'll see if I can find it under the passenger floorboard.
Gerry, it looks like that Ground off the fan motor (labeled G104 at the bottom of your diagram) is what I'm interested in. Nowhere in that manual does it say where that ground point is, does it?
