guess you learn something new every day. I'm just thinking from an installation standpoint it would be cleaner to use an HEI upgrade coil, like the MSD Blaster, looks about the same as a Bosch, and presumably, could be installed as such.

Sounds like a fairly simple bolt - in, sans the mount required for the OEM GM coil. Was there a ballast on the ign. lead that you bypassed to get the HEI to work?

Randy,

I just bolted it in place of the Bosch coil without a ballast resistor. The coil I got from the 84 Pontiac 6000 2.8 came with a handy mounting bracket.
