Replacement Front Valance, 1989 3.2 Carrera?
Hi fellas, I need to replace the front valance of my 1989 3.2 Carrera. The car is entirely stock on the exterior, Baltic Blue. The valance is badly bashed in, the body shop says it can't reasonably be massaged back. The black plastic lip is also looking rather sad. Blame the stupid driver, not the innocent curb.
I see OEM ones are about $370. VALANCE PANEL | Genuine Porsche | 911-503-971-00-GRV That's my default choice. But what other choices might you consider, were you in this situation? I have often wished for real driving lights instead of the stock fogs, but I think I can eventually fit driving lights in the existing valance, no?

I bought mine used here around $100.00, needed paint though. Spoiler can be purchased through the host or other sources.

Hella 450 driving lights fit the stock opening ok, though they take some work to adapt, as you have to cannibalize your stock fog lights for their mounting post. There is a good thread here: Hella 450 Driving Lights
If you do this, take care when attaching the stud to the back of the Hella housings. Because of their size there is very little room for adjusting the lights when installed int the valance. I would also suggest purchasing some of the clear plastic covers that Hella sells (available on amazon).

Driving lights that small and mounted that low really don't do much. I like the valance that has no provision for fog lights. Much cleaner and lighter.

if you haven't done so already, converting to h4 headlights should get you all the road illumination you'd foreseeably need -- +1 on going with a cutout-free valance and skipping fogs altogether

I agree the fogs are virtually non-functional and provide more of a visual appeal to most people. If you want a valance without the fogs, get a club sport valance. It's part number 911.503.971.01
I have the club sport valance on my '86. The previous owner Mark (RIP my friend) hated the fog light valance and got the factory CS unit to replace it. Looks great & i'm very thankful he did it because I tool am a fog light hater.

Granted, the stock fogs do nothing at all - it's just for looks . . . and I have H4s. The RUF valance is nice. I probably need a real bumper, so the full RUF bumper is not ideal. But they do ticket for no front plate here
