Dear member,
Im Antony from Hungary. at may 31,I to bough 2-valve spring for my Porsche from "Classic Cars and Parts"(phone :410-877-7990),located in Maryland..email is:"partsman912@aol.com" The parcel delivered with USPS, the tracking is :LZ534146520US The item more than 14 days "its on the route"position..stop it in NYY. Usually, the delivery time will be few days, max 1-week. If I write to seller, never answer!(firs just "its on the way"short answer) My problem is:I do not know, whats happen with my parcel...why stop it already 2-weeks? I haven't any info, because Im reciver, not sender.. I haven't contact with a seller. I live in Europa, and my engls.language also very poor.. Perhaps, for somebody any idea, how can I recive more info from my parcel? many thx for advice!! regards Antony

Where is the package going in Europe? That tracking shows the package was scanned through Jamaica, NY on 6/2 and is "currently in transit to the destination." It's a First Class Mail package, so it will take a long time. There's no way to get more info from USPS, you just have to be patient and wait for delivery. If the package was sent Priority Mail, yes, you might get it in a week.
First Class is much slower. |

You're probably in customs limbo. Just be patient.
When I lived in Europe people would send me stuff and it always took a really long time for customs to clear it. |

There's a reason I will never ship postal service overseas. Takes forever.

Hi Buddy,
More than likely, your parcel is no longer in NY, but actually in transit. If it got all the way to customs, I find it unlikely in the extreme that the seller never sent it. I do not think you should worry about the seller. If they were trying to cheat you, they might never send a package, or send an empty box, but arranging for it to get lost in customs seems unlikely. For what it's worth, it looks like the seller is a brick and mortar store, and I checked their seller ratings, they do an unbelievable amount of business and have very high ratings. I'm fairly sure First Class International is a pretty cheap way to ship and can sometime take weeks. More than likely, your package is still in transit. Unfortunately, there really isn't a way to track or insure your package once it leaves the states. The seller is probably not answering you at this point because there's literally nothing he can do but wait. USPS will not give him information once it leaves the USA. I would try to contact your local post office to see if they have any mechanism for tracking the package. Sorry I don't have better news.

The expectation is that USPS tracking is as good as UPS or FedEx. This is a wrong assumption, especially in overseas "slow boat to China" situations.

Ever check on international shipping rates with UPS or FedEx? They're pretty expensive. Hard to rationalize paying $100 to ship two small springs worth $30.
USPS Priority International Flat Rate is what I try to use. It's the cheapest air mail that I have found. But again, tracking info stops as soon as the package leaves the US.

Stops on the sending side once it leaves the country, sure. They've simply got no way of knowing what's happening to it after that.
That's when you switch to using the tracking of the in-country postal services; they should pick it up as soon as it's scanned off the plane/boat/sea-going turtle limbo. Works the other way too - e.g. with a China Post tracking #. Usually, you just get to watch it sit in the customs shed for however long it takes. Although it doesn't always work; I've had stuff delivered while still showing "awaiting customs clearance" before now - and an hour later the web site showed "delivered", completely skipping all the intermediate steps...

![]() The last problem I had with USPS was when tracking showed my package was mis-directed to a different nearby city for delivery for no apparent reason. I thought maybe the sender had screwed up my address. It went back to the processing center and was eventually delivered to my house, since it turns out it had the correct address on it the entire time. ![]() The wife of my friend who introduced me to Porsches is a USPS letter carrier, but the bottom line is that USPS service is not always very good. Good luck, Anthony. Last edited by Taxi!; 06-24-2016 at 02:03 PM.. |

I had a harness returned to me from Denmark using priority mail for no apparent reason after a month. Sent it again at buyers expense and it went straight through. 6 weeks total to send and receive.
Never an explanation....

This is tracking info on a package I sent from USA to Hungary via USPS "Priority Mail": CF024248392US
About 3 weeks; one week to Hungary, two weeks in Hungary. "Priority Mail" is going to be faster then "First-Class". My guess is that it is in Hungary caught up in Customs or the Hungarian Post Office. Sit tight...its on it's way... |

Sold a matching date set of steelies to a guy in Paris. Two boxes.
He told me exactly what to put on the USPS label as to address and declared value. I e-mailed him the label for review and confirmation. He ran the show as he had done this before. Three days to leave the US. Confirmation it made it to Paris through the USPS site, maybe two days, and then about four days before I received an email saying he received. It was around $200 to send. Not sure if first or priority.
