Hi,
the company is located in Switzerland (www.maxilite.ch) but the wheels are made in China. However, quality is quite good and some of the Porsche wheels are certified by the Austrian and German "TÜV" (official technical authority). These wheels are quite popular in Germany. Cheers Alex |
They are decent wheels, as good as any other reps. From a price point, Euromeisters range. Good alternative since EM wheels always on eternal backorder.

Buddy just ordered EM's Of the 4, 2 had paint defects significant enough he returned them and looked through 4 more to get 2 good ones. I wonder if the quality on these is better.

I wonder how if they can handle the stress of track use... doubtful a wise choice but I don't know anything about these wheels.
I need something to mount some rains on for my 914/6. |
JMZ, in our region the PCA expressly rules against using replicas during their track events. I have heard that others do allow it.

What if I purchase a maxlite brand wheel that is the right size but not the same style as a fuchs? ...any better of a wheel. There are minilites that can be bought now that are aluminum replicas of the original magnesium wheel. ...I think they may even be minilite brand. That's an option I'm also looking at. Would that be a replica? ...anyway just bouncing around thoughts. The site for these wheels I originally posted about says something about German TUV testing which is supposed to mean something. |
Now if only there were some reasonably priced tires for those 15x11s
|
Here's the rule:
Wheels Any safe wheel, except aftermarket cast imitation Fuchs alloys, are acceptable. Carefully check older wheels for cracking at the lug seat. Insure valve stem brace is installed, if applicable. Check that valves & valve stems are secure. We recommend Porsche original hardware. Under no condition should a repaired alloy wheel be used! |

These appear to be TUV certified - according to the eBay page, so likely not garbage. if these guys made an 11x17 wheel I would be seriously considering them for my project. Wide and sporty 15" and 16" tires are now solely in the domain of historic racing enthusiast (read $$$$).
|
I've been looking into them for sometime now, but I always come to the conclusion that the 15x7's look odd. Is it just me? Does anybody have a picture of 15x7's mounted on a car?
